During the first part of the 20th Century, Chickering, America's first piano manufacturer, built a model of piano called the "Quarter Grand" piano. These pianos were built to be dainty and small in appearance, while maintaining the high quality tone and touch that Chickering was known for. This Quarter Grand has beautifully carved Sheraton style legs and music rack, making a very formal and stately appearance. The instrument can be finished in either reddish or brownish mahogany, or black lacquer at a buyer's request. This piano can be equipped with computerized player mechanisms if desired. A matching bench is included.
