This piano is a rare Weber Duo-Art player grand piano from 1920. These pianos are known as "reproducing pianos" because they play with expression like a real person. Weber built high quality, expensive pianos from about 1852-1978, one of the few American piano manufacturers to survive well over a century. These reproducing player grand pianos sold new for as much as $2,500...the cost of a house from the era! Only the wealthy could afford such a luxury, and these pianos were considered "state of the art" in modern design and invention. This piano uses a perforated roll and is not computerized, and was built as a player piano when new. It plays perfectly by hand and has a wonderful, light touch. This piano was originally a nice reddish brown mahogany when it was new, but it was stripped and bleached out blonde by its previous owner. We can easily match the color to a client's decor if desired. It will be stunning after restoration. A matching bench is included.
