Steinway is said to have built the best pianos in the world. Steinway was established in 1853, and have built pianos consistently since then. This piano is known as a "Model A", and was built by Steinway in 1886. The Model A was one of Steinway's most popular parlor grand piano models of the era, and it was a favorite of both fine home musicians and professional pianists of the day. Even today, the Model A Steinway is one of the most desired vintage Steinways. This instrument is shown here before restoration. It was original finished in satin black lacquer, and will be restored back to historical specifications. The ivory keyboard is good enough to be restored rather than replaced, but the piano will require internal restoration, which is included in the sale price. This piano has all indications of being a wonderful sounding piano after restoration. A matching antique adjustable bench is included.
