This is a rare example of an extraordinary upright piano from the height of the Victorian era. This Weber upright piano is a full size, hand made instrument made in the highly elaborate Rococo style, with beautifully carved legs, moldings, and fret work. Weber was established in 1852, a year before Steinway, and they built some of the most expensive, well made pianos of the 19th Century. The Weber name has been built consistently ever since, but today Weber pianos are being built overseas. We have restored several Weber upright and grand pianos, and find them to be consistently about the best pianos we have ever seen. Note the original Weber advertisement, circa about 1880, showing this piano model selling for $900, the cost of a house! Only the wealthy could afford such luxury, hence the rarity of these pianos today. This is truly a magnificent piece of Victoriana at it's finest. This piano can be equipped with computerized player mechanisms if desired.
